Direct Supply, Inc. (March 2005 - November 2006)
My first professional job and the internship version of the Web Content Developer II position held 1.5 years later. The responsibilities were the same: maintain all of the externally- and internally-facing company websites, the main focus being on the ordering site.
I was also given some free reign to learn new technologies and apply them to the existing sites in ways that would benefit the end users.
Tasks and accomplishments
Maintained existing content management system, updating product pages, creating various guides and promotional pages for sales/new products/etc.
Lead a massive project based in SharePoint with the goal of archiving all of the marketing department’s flyers and other pieces.
Design was through InfoPath and the backend of SharePoint with lots of custom ASP.NET coding to manipulate the InfoPath XML outside of SharePoint and InfoPath for use in numerous other areas of the site.
Modified the Zoomify application to accept a string of variables via ASP.NET links and displayed the appropriate product images after filtering an XML database of all products sold by Direct Supply.
